Malaysians Buy £57m London Hammersmith Tower Site
Malaysian developer Eastern & Oriental has this week bought both Landmark House and Thames Tower in Hammersmith in west London for £57m.
Dato' Terry Tham, E&O group managing director bought the site as it represents a significant redevelopment opportunity for E&O in the future including grade A office space and quality residential accommodation.
Hammersmith is situated west of core inner London and demonstrates how the capital has a ripple effect spreading outwards and exposes the entire area for growth but more importantly value for money. This image to the left shows the different boroughs within London with the highlighted one being Hammersmith. London is viewed by many as the safest place to invest globally with most doubling their money within a 5 year period providing no major crash, and even then in the medium to long-term investors just don't lose money here.
For better value more and more investors are now turning to the boroughs in the outside of London which are usually boasting higher returns than the more familiar markets in the centre.
Malaysia has always been investing in London for many years now but very few people know they were the number one foreign investor into London last year and news like this one would think this trend is set to continue.
